We restructured Seester Seester for the new year and this is our first mid-month media post! It’ll be a monthly guide devoted solely to the media we’ve been watching, reading, listening to, & loving.

Movies, books, music, and all forms of media have always been among our favorite things. They keep us curious, connected, and help us step into someone else’s shoes. Growing up, media was how we bonded—there’s nothing like that HBO static before a Sunday night premiere. It’s truly one of our love languages.

This year, we’re dedicating an entire issue of Seester Seester to media. Whether you’re looking for your next favorite thing or just want to compare notes, here’s what we’ve been loving lately.

Movies We Loved:

Flow (Max)

Ashley: A small caveat that most of my movies these days are animated since on the weekends, we do family movie nights. I didn’t think Penny would like this movie since there isn’t any dialogue but WE LOVED THIS! I kind of narrated everything that happened during the movie and maybe that helped but I truly cannot recommend this movie enough. It’s so visually stunning, heartfelt and heartbreaking. I’m surprised Alexa didn’t like it that much.
