Hi Seesters!

When we first started Seester Seester, it was all about catching up and sharing whatever we couldn’t stop talking about— kind of like our sister calls, just in newsletter form. Over the past year, we realized some sections (like the NYC/LA ones) weren’t resonating the way we’d hoped, so we’re switching things up and simplifying.

This new monthly issue — our “Monthly Round-Up” — is our way of staying true to the heart of our original format, but with more freedom. No rigid categories, no rules — just the things we loved, ate, did, or couldn’t stop thinking about over the past month.

With this being our inaugural Monthly Round-Up, let us know if you love it… or hate it. We genuinely want your feedback!

P.S. We will typically include a voiceover alongside our Monthly Round-Up, but due to a family emergency with our beloved Jackie Boy this week, we weren’t able to record in time. Thank you so much for your understanding and patience—we’ll be back with our usual format next month.

Ashley’s Round-Up:

This month flew by so quickly! Can y’all believe that Cory Booker’s historic speech was on April 1st? I swear it feels like so long ago. Every month is like a year now that Orangetator is in office again.

Alexa and I are so excited for this monthly round-up but we aren’t sure of how much info to include or leave out or what y’all even want so please let us know if there is any part of this that you love or hate. I admittedly am very sad to stop doing the New York portion of the newsletter, but since the LA/NYC section didn’t poll well, we figured it was time to switch it up.

High:

Attending the Heroes of Democracy Gala for the Renew Democracy Initiative. My friend Rina Shah texted me 2 days before the event asking if I would like to come and while I’m not much of a gala person - I was so honored to go to this. Being able to celebrate people who are making sure democracy is protected in these times was such a salve to my soul. If you are looking for a great cause to donate to right now - I would highly recommend donating here or getting involved with them!

Low:

A nanny yelled at Penny in her gymnastics class and I really cannot stop thinking about it. As a nanny, I never ever yelled at another kid, much less the kid I was in charge of and I am both upset that I didn’t react in the moment but also proud of myself for not reacting in the moment because I don’t want Penny to see crazy Mom yet. If y’all have ever dealt with a parent or a nanny yelling at your kid - I’d love to hear how you handled it.

Funniest moment:

Penny had a tantrum because this chocolate croissant was too big. Oh to be a toddler.
